Ch. Black Prince

“Ch Black Prince was whelped in 1881 and he finished as a Field Spaniel. He appears in a number of Cocker pedigrees, but few, if any Field Spaniel lines. He grew into a large, heavy Spaniel, resembling his sire, imported Benedict.”
Greer and Austin.(1983).Champions in Story and Pedigree. (Vol.1)
He was whelped the year ASC was formed and one year before the event of Obo II. He was owned by Alexander Clinton Wilmerding (ASC HOF) and was the winner of the first retrieving trial for Spaniels held in the US.
