Zone 2 is proud to invite you to the 34th Cocker Spaniel National Specialty July 8-11 in Richmond, Virginia at the Richmond International Raceway Complex. All Conformation and Obedience/Rally judging will be held indoors. Agility will be held outdoors in the covered arena. The raceway offers full RV hook ups. RV reservation forms will be published in the premium list and on the ASC website. The host hotel is the Crowne Plaza Richmond West.
The hotel has agreed to amend their pet policy exclusively for ASC. Rules applying to dogs in the hotel will be published in the premium list.
Richmond is one of America’s most historical cities. There are many events and sites to see in the city, and within a short driving distance; including Busch Gardens, King’s Dominion, Colonial Williamsburg and more. There are also loads of dining and shopping opportunities.
We are excited to offer the first annual Bred By Exhibitor Sweepstakes!1 This year’s event will be judged by Mr. David Roberts of the AKC.
Make plans now to attend the “Cocker Cotillion” and Awards Dinner on Saturday, July 10th in the Crowne Plaza Ballroom for an evening of fun and dancing. Reservation forms will be available in the Premium list and on the ASC website.
There will be a judges’ education program on Saturday, July 10th by Dr. Clyde and Barbara Shaw. Nancy Gallant has several interesting breeder education offerings planned as well!
AGILITY TROPHY DONATIONS
Donations can be made for specific awards for the Cocker-Only day or to the Agility General Trophy Fund for Saturday and Sunday.
Please be generous and consider covering multiple classes or make a donation of any size to the General Trophy Fund.

1 RULES FOR BRED BY EXHIBITOR SWEEPSTAKES
This event is classified as a “special attraction” by AKC.
When choosing a judge for this event, the show chair/committee should make every effort to reduce and/or eliminate judges cost to the club.
Entry is open to all dogs and bitches at least 6 months of age and not over 12 months.
The person handling the dog in the class must be a breeder of record and an owner of record of this dog. In any subsequent classes for which a dog from the Bred-by-Exhibitor class becomes eligible, there are no restrictions as to who may handle.
The judging in each sex and variety shall be as follows: 6-9 Months and 9-12 Months.
The winners of each variety sex and age group will compete for Best of Variety and Best of Opposite Sex.
The three Best of Variety winners will compete for Best in Bred by Sweepstakes.
Any dog of opposite sex to Best in Bred by Sweepstakes, if undefeated within their Variety, shall compete for Best Opposite Sex to Best in Bred by Sweepstakes.
The money received by ASC from entries shall be divided as follows:
30% Retained by the club for expenses
15% for Best Puppy in Bred By Sweepstakes
10% for Best opposite Sex Puppy in Bred By Sweepstakes
10% for Best of each Variety in Bred By Sweepstakes
5% for Best opposite Sex of each Variety in Bred By Sweepstakes
